Re: Walk Alone
Today, when I face some difficult time and some of my friends are not by my side, I remember the following poem of Rabindranath Tagore:
Walk Alone
If they answer not to thy call walk alone,
If they are afraid and cower mutely facing the wall,
O thou of evil luck,
open thy mind and speak out alone.
If they turn away, and desert you when crossing the wilderness,
O thou of evil luck,
trample the thorns under thy tread,
and along the blood-lined track travel alone.
If they do not hold up the light when the night is troubled with storm,
O thou of evil luck,
with the thunder flame of pain ignite thy own heart
and let it burn alone.
[Rabindranath Tagore]
What a soothing poem it is!
The original Bengali version of this poem / song [Ekla Chalo] was favourite of Mahatma Gandhi.
I pray the Divine to give me, and all others, energy and inspiration to walk alone on my path / our paths to the New Horizon towards fulfilment of my / our Vision.

alone in the One…we all are Barin…
your path and my path
one and two..divided and connected in the one
separate unique and connected in the quiet
connected through communication
connected through intentional connection
reaching touching and holding the light
shaded quiet sadness
pointing to the healing space
feeling the void
waiting and wondering
sitting with the way
then walking
one two…then we have many
in love and light and connection
Thank you, Cathy, for this beautiful poetic expression.
The concluding lines are really superb :
“one two…then we have many
in love and light and connection”.
